🎭 Roleplay Basics: IC, OOC, Metagaming, FailRP, FearRP, PowerGaming & UB Driving

Welcome, new roleplayer! 👋 This guide explains the core roleplay concepts every beginner must understand before playing. Not knowing these rules is not an excuse — read carefully. 📖

1️⃣ IC vs OOC vs Metagaming

🎮 What is IC (In Character)?

🔹 IC = everything your character does inside the game world — their talk, actions, decisions, and emotions. Not you, your character.

✔️ Examples:

• "Hands up, this is a robbery!" 🔫
• "Police, pull over!" 🚓
• "My character hates your gang" — a decision your character makes based only on what they know IC

💬 What is OOC (Out of Character)?

🔹 OOC = you talking as your real self, outside of roleplay — for clarifying issues, reporting, or tech problems.

✔️ Examples:

• "My game crashed"
• "Sorry, lag"
• "How do I use this command?"
• "Admin, I need help"

💀 What is Metagaming? (STRICTLY ILLEGAL)

🔹 Metagaming = using OOC/outside information in an IC situation. In simple words: your character acting on things they never actually learned in-game.

⚠️ Examples:

• Seeing someone's location on Discord → going to kill them in-game ❌
• Watching someone's stream to find their location ❌
• A friend PMs "police are coming" → you escape IC using that info ❌
• Identifying someone using their player ID or Discord name ❌
• "I know your name because I saw it above your head" ❌

☠️ DANGER ZONE: Warning → Mute/Jail → Ban depending on severity and repetition

❗ Simple Rule: Outside knowledge stays outside. Your character only knows what happened inside the RP world.

2️⃣ FailRP, FearRP & PowerGaming

💥 FailRP — Bad / Unrealistic Roleplay

🔹 FailRP = doing something that would never realistically happen in real life, or breaking RP logic on purpose.

⚠️ Examples:

• Jumping off a building "because respawn"
• Driving into the ocean for fun
• Purposely crashing into people to troll
• Ignoring an active RP situation happening around you
• Combat logging (leaving the game to escape RP)
• Using /kill to avoid a scenario
• Pretending you didn't see/hear obvious RP happening
• Refusing to roleplay when required

☠️ DANGER ZONE: Jail/Mute → escalating Ban for repeat offenders

😱 FearRP — Value Your Character's Life

🔹 FearRP = you must act like your character genuinely fears for their life when in real danger — just like a real human would.

⚠️ Examples (NOT allowed):

• 4 armed people point guns at you — you punch and run ❌
• Gun to your head — you keep talking tough ❌
• Surrounded and kidnapped — you act fearless ❌
• Police aim rifles at you — you drive off like a movie hero ❌
• Someone clearly threatening your life — you joke about it ❌

✔️ Correct FearRP:

• Put your hands up when threatened
• Comply when multiple guns are aimed at you
• Value your character's safety over "winning"
• Don't act like an invincible action hero

💪 PowerGaming — Forcing RP or Impossible Actions

🔹 PowerGaming (PG) = doing unrealistic actions, or forcing outcomes on other players without giving them a fair chance to respond.

⚠️ Examples:

1. Forcing actions without a chance to react

   • "/me breaks your neck — you die instantly"
   • "/me handcuffs you instantly" with no reaction time
   • Running over a player who's already handcuffed

2. Physically impossible actions

   • Dodging bullets like a superhero
   • Fighting normally while multiple guns are pointed at you

3. Medical/patching abuse

   • Healing someone while holding a gun (put the gun away first!)
   • Patching a body that's still stuck under a car — remove the car first

4. Vehicle reality breaks

   • Magically exiting a locked car with no RP reason

5. Identity/name unrealism

   • Saying someone's name without proper IC identification (they must tell you, show ID, or you must have learned it IC — seeing a nametag/Discord name doesn't count)

6. No Pain / God Mode RP

   • Ignoring injuries, running full speed after being shot

7. Unrealistic advantage-seeking

   • "Surgery" mid-gunfight
   • Instantly changing clothes to dodge police recognition

8. Hostage-taking rules

   • One hand must stay free while taking a hostage
   • Only a revolver/pistol may be used to take a hostage — no assault rifles or shotguns

☠️ DANGER ZONE: Jail/Mute → 3–7 Day Ban → Permanent Ban for repeated/severe PowerGaming

3️⃣ UB Driving & Unrealistic Behaviour (UB)

🚗 Rule 5.1 — Unrealistic (UB) Driving

🔹 UB Driving = driving in a way that no real human would, purely to gain an unfair advantage or break immersion.

⚠️ Examples:

• Ramming other cars/players for no RP reason (VDM — Vehicle Deathmatch)
• Driving at full speed through crowds, red lights, or police checkpoints with no RP reason
• Using a vehicle as a weapon to injure/kill instead of proper RP
• Impossible driving stunts (flips, wall-rides, no-damage crashes) used to escape RP
• Reckless driving purely to grief or troll other players
• Spawning/despawning vehicles mid-chase to escape realistically

☠️ DANGER ZONE: Jail/Mute → 3-Day Ban → escalating Ban for repeat offenders

🎭 Rule 5.2 — General Unrealistic Behaviour (UB)

🔹 UB = any action that breaks basic realism or common sense expected in serious roleplay — beyond driving.

⚠️ Examples:

• Acting invincible after taking heavy damage
• Casually walking around after major injuries with no reaction
• Treating combat/crime like an arcade game instead of real RP
• Ignoring realistic consequences of your character's actions
• Random, senseless violence with no RP build-up (RDM — Random Deathmatch)

💡 Beginner's Golden Rule

"Would this realistically happen to a normal human being?" If the answer is no — don't do it. That's 90% of these rules in one sentence. 😎
