- Master Step-by-Step: How to Edit an Ad on LifeInvader
1. General Rules & Ad Format
LifeInvader ads always follow a fixed action → detail → price/budget structure. Getting this skeleton right is the single most important skill for an editor, because every category (real estate, auto, work, etc.) is just a variation on this same backbone.
1.1 The Four Core Verbs
| Intent | Verb to use | Price field | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| Selling only | Selling | Price | Selling pants for men. Price: Negotiable. |
| Selling or trading | Selling or trading | Price | Selling or trading "Ubermacht M5 (E34)". Price: Negotiable. |
| Trading only | Trading | (no price field) | Trading "Ubermacht M5 (E34)". |
| Buying | Buying | Budget | Buying seeds. Budget: Negotiable. |
- "Looking to buy" is always normalized to Buying.
- Raw: Looking to buy a house → Edited: Buying a house. Budget: Negotiable.
- If the customer doesn't state a price or budget, you must still add the field:
- Price: Negotiable. or Budget: Negotiable.
- A colon (
:) always follows the word Price or Budget — never a dash, equals sign, or nothing.
1.2 The Cross-Category Trading Rule
You cannot edit ads that trade items from two different categories. A car cannot be traded for a house or a business, and vice versa. If a raw ad tries to do this, it must be rejected rather than "fixed" — this is not an editable formatting issue, it's an invalid ad.
1.3 Money Formatting Rules
These are some of the most commonly-missed rules, so read carefully:
-
Dollar sign first. Every numerical value is preceded by
$. -
No trailing period after a number. If the ad ends in a numeric value, do not add a full stop.
- Correct:
Price: $4.000 - Correct:
Price: $4 Million.(ends in the word "Million", so the period stays)
- Correct:
-
Never abbreviate with K or M. Spell out thousands in full, and use the word "Million" for millions.
Raw Corrected $1k $1.000 $10k $10.000 $100k $100.000 $1m $1 Million. $14m $14 Million. $4.5m $4.5 Million. -
Use a period, not a comma, as the thousands separator.
- Correct:
$1.000 - Incorrect:
$1,000
- Correct:
-
Billion-plus values become "Negotiable" — with two exceptions: houses and businesses, which are allowed to display amounts over $1 Billion.
- Raw: Selling a car. Price 2 Billion. → Edited: Selling a car. Price: Negotiable.
-
Minimum thresholds convert to Negotiable:
- A house listed under $1 Million → change price to Negotiable.
- An apartment listed under $2 Million → change price to Negotiable.
1.4 General Editing Notes
- Always cross-check clothing items and vehicles/bikes/planes/helicopters against the clothing list and vehicle list documents for exact naming.
- Brand names and location names must be capitalised (see the capitalisation list in Section 3, Real Estate).
- When a specific quantity of items is mentioned, the number takes a period as its thousands separator, same as money.
- Example: Selling 1.000 seeds. Price: Negotiable.
- Always double-check the ad is correct before posting.
- Always select the correct category for the ad.
- Trading two items from different categories does not get filed under "Other" — it gets rejected outright (see 1.2 above).
- You are entitled to reject any ad that is improper, incomprehensible, or offensive in any way.
- Some rejected ads must also be blacklisted — see Section 2 below for the specific list and durations.
2. Illegal Items & Rejections
2.1 Rejected AND Blacklisted (with blacklist duration)
These items get the ad rejected and the sender blacklisted for the listed period:
| Item / Category | Blacklist Duration |
|---|---|
| Firearms / weapons / ammunition / knives | 7 days |
| Bulletproof vests / armour plates | 7 days |
| Weed/cannabis seeds/trees and drugs/cocaine | 5 days |
| ORG items (Army uniform, balaclava, EMS medical masks, medkits, pills) | 7 days |
| Vehicle/people scanners | 5 days |
| Anti-radar/engine blockers | 5 days |
| Ropes/head bags | 5 days |
| USB with virus | 5 days |
| Lockpicks | 5 days |
| Bandit mask | 5 days |
| Counterfeit money | 5 days |
| Coloured cloth | 5 days |
| Crowbars | 5 days |
| Troll ads (ridiculous prices, etc.) | 3–7 days |
| Sexual or racist references (e.g. "looking for sugar daddy", "looking for indian girls") | 3–7 days |
| Ads insulting LI employees | 7 days |
| Ads involving the sale of people | 3–7 days |
| Ads mentioning historically controversial figures (Hitler, Stalin, Jeffrey Epstein, etc.) | 7 days |
| Submodule / Main module (smuggling machine) | 5 days |
| Bandit container | 3 days |
| Poison darts | 5 days |
2.2 Rejected ONLY (no blacklist)
These get rejected, but do not trigger a blacklist:
- Specific family names
- Hype Body Armour
- Gangs
- Nationality
- Gods / Admins
- Leaders and deputy leaders of an organisation
- Food items (excluding fish)
- Birthday ads
- Ads with improper format (e.g. selling 2 items of different categories)
- Ads referencing these locations:
- Mega Mall
- Gang HQs
- Black Market
- Party at LifeInvader (except LI Galaxy Rooftop), LSPD, FIB, SAHP, EMS, Government, National Guard (NG) base or FZ, Capitol, Aircraft Carrier, Power Plant, Farm, ghetto, or any business, beach market

- Defense case / container
- Any dice or illegal gambling ads
- Dangerous razor
- Tracking sensor
- Multiple spam of template/party ads (more than 2 in a row)
2.3 Notes on Illegal Items
- There is a database in the FIB email where you can post blacklisted ads that mention only selling illegal items.
- Party ads should be rejected if the location is one of the forbidden locations above, or if the location is not specified (e.g. no house number, or vague like "Party in Paleto Bay").
- Keep rejections short and professional.
2.4 Ad Limits (applies across categories)

3. Real Estate
3.1 General Rules
- Max 2 properties per ad. Houses are not tradeable.
- Example: Selling houses №213 and №767. Price: Negotiable.
- If a property number is given, use the № symbol.
- Example: Selling house №758. Price: Negotiable.
- Garage spaces can only be 2, 5, 9, 25, or 30, abbreviated as g.s.
- Example: Selling a house with 5 g.s. Price: Negotiable.
- Warehouse spaces can only be 3, 4, or 5, abbreviated as w.h.
- Example: Selling a house with 4 w.h. Price: Negotiable.
- If a property has insurance, just say with insurance — no need to give a day count.
- Extras that can be included: garden, insurance, view, tennis court, swimming pool, helipad, long driveway, etc.
- Example: Selling a house with a garden, helipad and swimming pool. Price: Negotiable.
3.2 Mandatory Feature Order
When multiple features are listed, they must always appear in this exact sequence:
- Family (advanced, elite)
- Garden
- Garage spaces (2/5/9/25/30 g.s.)
- Warehouse spaces (3/4/5 w.h.)
- Custom interior
- Insurance
- Others (helipad, tennis court, long driveway, swimming pool)
- View (nice, beautiful, great, good view)
- Location (e.g. in Vinewood Hills, near post office)
Full example:
Selling house №758 with a garden, 30 g.s., 5 w.h., custom interior, insurance, helipad and great view in Vinewood Hills. Price: Negotiable.
Selling an apartment with 9 g.s., custom interior, insurance and a great view in the Casino. Price: Negotiable.
3.3 Custom Interior Rule
- "Custom interior" is allowed if the sender says the property is furnished / has different interiors.
- CAREFUL: You may never mention nationality-themed interiors (Italian interior, Russian interior, Chinese interior, etc.) — strip these out entirely and replace with "custom interior."
3.4 Plural Rules for Multiple Properties
If two houses are mentioned, pluralize:
- garden → gardens
- helipad → helipads
- tennis court → tennis courts
- long driveway → long driveways
- swimming pool → swimming pools
"Insurance" and "custom interior" stay singular (no "s") even with two properties.
Examples:
Selling 2 houses with gardens, helipads, tennis courts, long driveways and swimming pools. Price: Negotiable.
Selling houses №766 and №767 with gardens, 25 g.s., insurance and swimming pools. Price: Negotiable.
Apartments follow the same singular rule for insurance/custom interior:
Selling 2 apartments with 9 g.s., 5 w.h. and custom interior. Price: Negotiable.
Selling apartments №766 and №767 with 25 g.s., 5 w.h. and custom interior. Price: Negotiable.
3.5 Mixed House + Apartment Ads
If the customer mentions one house and one apartment:
Selling a house and an apartment. Price: Negotiable. Buying a house and an apartment. Budget: Negotiable. Buying a house or an apartment. Budget: Negotiable.
Since apartments don't have gardens, only mention selling/buying the house and apartment as a pair — no extras.
You cannot buy a specific house or apartment. If a "buying" ad mentions a property number, strip it to "Buying a house" / "Buying an apartment" — or reject with: "We can NOT buy specific houses/apartments."
3.6 Renting
- Instead of Selling // Price → use Renting out // Rent.
- Instead of Buying // Budget → use Looking to rent // Budget.
Renting out house №758. Rent: Negotiable. Looking to rent a house. Budget: Negotiable.
CAREFUL: "Renting out" = you are giving up your property to someone else. "Looking to rent" = you want to rent a property from someone else. Don't mix these up.
Rent duration can be per day or per week:
Renting out a house. Rent: $200.000 for 7 days. Renting out a house. Rent: $200.000 per week.
3.7 Miscellaneous Real Estate Rules
- Always put two periods on abbreviations
g.s.andw.h., even before a comma: "with a garden, 9 g.s., 5 w.h. and swimming pool." - Never mention the green zone or any gang location/name.
- Use mansion instead of villa.
- Selling a mansion. Price: Negotiable.
- Selling mansion №25. Price: Negotiable.
- Use Casino penthouse instead of Casino apartment.
- Selling a Casino penthouse. Price: Negotiable.
- Selling Casino penthouse №123. Price: Negotiable.
3.8 Families
General rules:
- Family names must never be mentioned in any ad.
- Only one family per ad.
- Prices must be close to market value; unrealistic/troll pricing results in the price being changed to Negotiable, or the ad being rejected and potentially blacklisted.
- Families cannot be sold with a specific property unless it's clearly a combined deal (house/apartment + family).
Tier pricing reference:
| Tier | Type | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Level 3 | Advanced Family | $10,000,000 |
| Level 4 | Elite Family | $10,000,000 |
Examples by tier:
- General (no tier): Selling a family. Price: Negotiable. / Buying a family. Budget: Negotiable.
- Level 3 — Advanced: Selling an advanced family. Price: $12 Million. / Buying an advanced family. Budget: $10 Million.
- Level 4 — Elite: Selling an elite family. Price: $18 Million. / Buying an elite family. Budget: Negotiable.

4.4 Character Limit Overflow (Last Resort Only)
If the full ad exceeds the 150-character limit and throws an error, simplify by dropping the brand/model quote details or shortening feature lists — but only as a last resort:
Selling "Ocelot Vanquish Zagato SB" in partial configuration, visual upgrades, insurance, tuning parts, turbo and drift kit. Price: Negotiable.
4.5 Electric Cars & Trading
- Electric car ads are allowed: Buying an electric car. Budget: Negotiable.
- If a sender gives no brand, write generically: "Selling a car/motorbike/bike/motorcycle/plane/helicopter/boat."
- If citizens are only trading, do not mention Budget/Price at all:
Trading "Ubermacht M5 (E34)" for "Ubermacht X7 (G07)".

11. Rules of Communication
- Keep your radio on during work by pressing F5.
- Correct colleagues over radio chat/radio when they make a mistake — but this is Senior 1+ only.
- Always use a calm tone when correcting others. Never raise your tone or correct aggressively.
- Corrections exist so mistakes aren't repeated — no one is being personally targeted. Our job depends on flawless public-facing ads.
- Once corrected, reply to acknowledge the correction.
- Use the radio for work purposes only.
11.1 Template Spam Rule
You cannot post ads for the same business/office template back-to-back — that counts as spam. If nothing but templates for one particular business/office are queued, you must wait for 3 other ads to be published first before reposting that same template. If different businesses/offices are being advertised, you may post normally. The only rule: never post the same business/office templates repeatedly without the required gap.
12. Grammar & Format Guide
12.1 "A" vs "An"
Rule of thumb: it's about sound, not spelling.
- "A" goes before a noun with a consonant sound — B, C, D, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, P, Q, R, S, T, V, W, X, Y, Z.
- Examples: battery, campfire, diamond, flag, grand ticket, hookah, juice, kerosene barrels, luminous stone, map of Los Santos, new year gift, pet, repair kit, solar panel, thread, video card, wire.
- "An" goes before a noun with a vowel sound — A, E, I, O, U.
- Examples: animal skin, elixir, ingrand container, oil barrel.
Base examples:
Selling a repair kit. Price: Negotiable. Buying an animal skin. Budget: Negotiable. Trading a video card for an oil barrel.
12.2 Exceptions
"H" words — depends on whether the "h" sound is pronounced:
- Pronounced "h" (hat, hotel) → use "a."
Selling a hookah. Price: Negotiable.
- Silent "h" (honor, hour, honest) → use "an."
Selling an hourglass. Price: Negotiable. (illustrative — item may not exist in-game)
"U" words — depends on whether it sounds like "you" or "uh":
- Sounds like "you" (user, usual, utilized) → use "a."

- Sounds like "uh" (unusual, understanding, utter) → use "an."

12.3 Singular & Plural Nouns
Standard rule — add -s:
house → houses, pet → pets, snowball → snowballs
Nouns ending in s, x, z, ch, sh — add -es:
bus → buses, box → boxes, leash → leashes
Consonant + y — drop the y, add -ies:
ruby → rubies, battery → batteries, city → cities
12.4 Irregular Nouns
Irregular plurals:
elf → elves, woman → women, man → men, mouse → mice, wife → wives, scarf → scarves
Same form singular/plural (never add "s"):
carp, copper, dice, fish, fuel (for resource extraction), milk, salmon, metal, timber
Always-plural-only nouns:
fireworks, binoculars, brakes, earplugs
12.5 Compound Item Names — Pluralisation
Critical rule: when an item name is made of 2+ words, only the second word becomes plural — not the first.
| Correct plural | Why |
|---|---|
| Selling 2 pets. | single-word item pluralizes normally |
| Selling 2 pet rats. | compound — only "rat" pluralizes, not "pet" |
| Selling 30 mushrooms. | single word |
| Selling 30 mushroom seeds. | compound — only "seed" pluralizes |
| Selling 2 scarves. | single word, irregular plural |
| Selling 2 desert scarf masks. | compound — only "mask" pluralizes |
12.6 Disclaimer
This grammar guide covers general rules. There will be edge cases where the rules above don't cleanly apply — when in doubt, ask a Head of Category (HC) how to properly edit that specific ad rather than guessing.
13. Master Step-by-Step: How to Edit an Ad on LifeInvader
This is the full walkthrough an editor should mentally run through, top to bottom, every single time a raw ad comes in — regardless of category.
Step 1 — Read the Raw Ad Fully First
Do not start editing mid-read. Read the entire raw submission once, in full, so you understand:
- What the sender actually wants (sell, buy, trade, hire, rent, look for someone).
- How many items/properties/vehicles/people are involved.
- Whether anything in it looks illegal, offensive, or troll-like.
Step 2 — Identify the Category
Decide which of the 9 categories the ad belongs to: Real Estate · Auto · Dating · Work · Businesses · Service · Discounts · Other · (or a straight rejection).
If the ad mixes two categories (e.g. a car AND a house), this is an automatic rejection — do not attempt to split or merge it (Section 1.2).
Step 3 — Run the Illegal/Blacklist Check First
Before any formatting work, scan the raw text against the Section 2 lists:
- Is this a rejected-and-blacklisted item (weapons, drugs, ORG items, scanners, etc.)? → Reject and blacklist for the listed duration, then stop.
- Is this a rejected-only item (family names, nationality, forbidden locations, gambling, etc.)? → Reject, no blacklist, then stop.
- If clean, proceed to Step 4.
Step 4 — Check Quantity Limits
Depending on category, confirm the sender hasn't exceeded:
- 2 properties (Real Estate)
- 1 vehicle (Auto, unless trading)
- 1 business (Businesses)
- 3 items (Other)
- 1 job (Work)
- 1 person (Dating)
- 1 license plate / 2 sim-cards (Other)
If exceeded, reject with the matching standard reason (Section 2.5) — e.g. "Only one business allowed per AD."
Step 5 — Normalize the Core Verb
Convert whatever phrasing the sender used into the correct standard verb:
- "Looking to buy" → Buying
- "Want to sell/get rid of" → Selling
- "Want to swap/exchange" → Trading
- "Need workers/staff" → Hiring
- "Want a job as..." → Looking for a job
- "Want to rent my place out" → Renting out
- "Want a place to rent" → Looking to rent
Step 6 — Apply Category-Specific Terminology Substitutions
Run the raw text through the substitution table for that category:
- Real estate: villa → mansion, Casino apartment → Casino penthouse, garage/warehouse counts → g.s./w.h.
- Auto: max config → full configuration, body kit → visual upgrades, engine/suspension upgrades → tuning parts, turbo/drift box → turbo and drift kit.
- Work: lumberjack → locksmith, farmer → land worker, oilman → surveyor, "level X" → "X years of experience," stripper → professional dancer.
- Businesses: personal business → private business, drug lab → Burger Shop, gun/weapon store → Ammunition Store, Binco/Suburban → Clothing Shop.
- Other: rare/legendary → exclusive/unique, men's/women's → for men/for women, extra → of type.
Step 7 — Reorder Features Into Mandatory Sequence
If the category has a fixed feature order (Real Estate or Auto), rearrange whatever order the sender wrote them in into the official sequence:
- Real Estate order: family → garden → garage spaces → warehouse spaces → custom interior → insurance → others → view → location.
- Auto order: configuration → visual upgrades → insurance → tuning parts → turbo kit → drift kit.
Step 8 — Apply Grammar Rules
- Choose a/an correctly based on sound, not spelling (Section 12.1–12.2).
- Pluralize correctly, remembering the compound-word rule: only the second word of a two-word item pluralizes (Section 12.5).
- Capitalise brand names and any location from the approved capitalisation list (Section 3.9).
- Put vehicle brand/model names in quotation marks.
Step 9 — Format the Price/Budget/Salary/Rent/Bet Field
- Choose the correct field name for the category: Price (selling), Budget (buying), Salary (work), Rent (renting), Bet (games).
- Add a colon after the field name.
- Add
$before any number. - Convert K/M shorthand into full numbers or "X Million."
- Use periods, not commas, as separators.
- Apply the Negotiable override rules for amounts under/over the relevant threshold (Section 1.3).
- If nothing was stated, default to Negotiable.
Step 10 — Cross-Reference the Databases
- For vehicles: check the sellable car/motorcycle/boat/plane/helicopter list.
- For clothing/items: check the clothing list document.
- For specific people (Dating): check the Grand RP Discord and the LI "Backup City Database" channel.
- If not found anywhere, reject using the matching standard rejection reason and ask the sender for proof.
Step 11 — Final Read-Through
Before posting, re-read the fully edited ad one more time and confirm:
- The category is correct.
- The verb, price field, and formatting are all correct.
- The feature order (if applicable) is correct.
- No illegal items, blacklisted terms, or excess quantities slipped through.
- Grammar (a/an, plurals) is correct.
- The character limit is respected (fall back to the shortened last-resort format only if truly necessary — Auto category).
Step 12 — Post or Reject
- If everything checks out, post the ad in its final, corrected format.
- If anything fails at any step above, reject with the short, professional, standard rejection reason — and apply a blacklist duration if the item/category calls for one (Section 2.1).
Step 13 — When In Doubt
If a raw ad presents an edge case not clearly covered by any rule above (unusual grammar, an item not on any list, an ambiguous category), do not guess — ask a Head of Category (HC) before posting or rejecting.
End of document. This guide consolidates the LifeInvader Internal Policy (21 August 2026 revision) and the Grammar & Format Guide into a single reference for ad editors.
